After many years renting on Lake Eustis, we were so thrilled to upgrade to the "sunset side" of Lake Dora! Heron Hideaway was the perfect home for our winter season in Florida. We can't wait to return next year!

The house was beautiful and just as described. Thank you for an amazing stay for our friends from Switzerland. Location was perfect and close to Mount Dora and main roads. Kathleen the property manager was amazing with her communication and helpful assistance. We will for sure recommend this property to our friends visiting the area.

This house has amazing overall energy and flow. It was very comfortable and well-suited to us. The sunsets are unbelievable...WOW. ~Gratitude to the owners for sharing this lovely property.

We booked an extended stay at Heron Hideaway and could not have been happier with our choice of homes. It is beautifully redone and the pictures are a 100% match. In addition to the three bedrooms there is plenty of extra space and we enjoyed having so many places for storage.

The kitchen is fully stocked with more than anyone would need and it was nice having the televisions, foosball table and other amenities. The internet speed worked great for our video calls (two of us were working).

The lakefront location is picturesque with amazing sunset views and birdwatching in the morning.

The location is excellent, just a short drive to Tavares for restaurants or spending time in downtown Mt. Dora.

While we didn't have any problems while we were here, the owners checked in on us frequently and were always available for any questions.

We highly recommend Heron Hideaway and hope you enjoy it as much as we did.

5 STARS! We came here from NY to see our daughter play her first college softball game at the DI Spring Games in Leesburg. We loved the Heron Hideaway!! Came with the grandparents and had plenty of room and everything we needed! Besides the games, we loved the Hurricane Grille & breakfast at Sunrise Grill. But our absolute favorite was sitting outside by the lake at night with a nightcap & beautiful view. We had a wonderful weekend!

Brought our boat. Boat ramp was close. Home is well equipped and clean. Nice dock. Most everything was new. We have a VRBO place and these folks know how to do it right! Highly recommend! Very nice place.

5 STARS! This place is beautiful, well decorated, and has a great lake view - all the things you can see in the pictures. What you can't see - and what makes us want to return - is that it smells fresh not musty, the water doesn't smell like sulphur, the showers have great pressure, the linens are 100% cotton, and everything is immaculate. The sunsets last more than an hour, like the earth stops rotating at just the right time to magically light the clouds across the entire sky. The lake provides entertainment all day long - sea planes, herons fishing off the dock, wooden boats, cat boat tours, cormorants drying their wings, and finally the paddle wheeler dinner cruise with live music passing by the dock after sunset. We were lucky and caught a nighttime SpaceX launch which we could see from the dock! If we wanted to stretch our legs, Tavares waterfront park is walkable, Mount Dora shops and festivals are bike-able, and Disney is a day trip. We didn't want to leave and can't wait to return!

5 STARS! We absolutely loved our stay at Heron Hideaway! The place was beautiful, well decorated, pristinely clean, well stocked kitchen and lots of little touches that made our stay comfortable! We loved watching sunsets on the dock, playing foosball, and exploring downtown Mt Dora! We will definitely be back - hosts were wonderful and so accommodating!

5 STARS! Had a girls weekend and couldn’t have been more happy with our accommodations. The home was so well appointed and beautifully decorated!! Morning coffee on the dock is a must!!

We will do this trip again and we all want to stay at Heron Hideaway!!!

5 STARS! This place is adorable and they have thought of everything you would need including a list of great places to eat and fun things to do while in Mount Dora/Tavares. Can't wait to stay here again. The personal touches they have added are perfect and make you feel at home. The hosts respond quickly and are so kind.

We would give this house ten stars if we could!!!! it was decorated to the nines-it just felt delightful. our daughter heard her first record while at the Airbnb from the fun collection they have curated. the beds were soooooooo comfortable and everything was spotless and sparkling clean brand new. the kitchen was very well stocked with everything you would want, pots and pans and awesome cocktail set etc. the layout is spacious and great for families. we loved watching the sunset and sunrise out on the lake. w We rented a boat from downtown Mt Dora and that was a highlight of the trip, especially being easily able to pull up and dock at the house. all the activities we did at the house were great; dining al fresco on the nice outdoor furniture set, cooking in the lovely kitchen with a view of the lake, playing football, even doing laundry was a breeze in the large laundry room!! It was also just a short walk to downtown Tavares and we love the drive along Lakeshore Drive- truly spectacular. We come to this area often to visit family and have stayed in many many hotels and Airbnbs in the area & it's not an exaggeration to say this has been our favorite place to stay. Thank you for curating such a wonderful Airbnb!! We hope to come back soon!
